Hi it was ok wouldn't say smooth sailing. The op was fine but my sleeve has been done too tight so I suffer a lot from heartburn indigestion and should be eating easier than I am at the money. I find out next week if I will have to have another

Op to loosen my sleeve. Also my weight loss has Been very slow compared to others :(

Really pleased for you.

I have just been told that my op is cancelled because my blood is not clotting how it should, am so upset, this happened 15 years ago when I had my gall bladder out, they just worked it out and I went ahead with the open, this time it will be weeks, :(

Hi ladies. I am new to this forum. I live in Wimbledon, London. I was sleeved on 14.07.12 at St Anthony's in Surrey. I'm under St George's in Tooting and Nhs. I have lost just over 4 stone and I'm over the moon with that. Good luck to those having their op in the near future. If I can help with anything just shout x

Hi tealover,

Welcome.

WOW, you are doing brilliantly.

I would imagine you are feeling so much better after losing 4+stone. I have my sleeve done on 20th.

I honestly can't wait, feel like I've got pre-diet under control, so far.

How are you coping with 'normal' food? Do have problems with reflux etc?

Take care

Mary :-)

Hi Mary, thank you. I am absolutely loving my sleeve.

I feel so different. I didn't think I would as I still have at least 6 stone to go. Getting off the sofa is easier, walking, getting my socks on. All sorts!

How exciting that you'll be done on 20th. It'll be here before you know it.

Which pre op diet are you doing? I found mine fine. For some reason I found it empowering and didn't cheat at all.

I am pretty much sorted with normal food but it has been trial and lots of error for a while. I have a yogurt with granola, Cereal or a slice of brown toast for brekkie, a wrap with ham or chicken or Pitta and houmous for lunch. For dinner I have 2 chicken wings or chicken and veg skewer or a fish cake all with veg. I don't bother with potato, rice etc. I don't have room and don't get on with a lot of it. I think it's more important to have the Protein.

At the beginning of normal food I was sick a lot! Every week I get better at working out my portion sizes and what is good for me. I can't do straight fish but fish cakes are great.

I have no regrets but had a few occasions when I worried. It's all fine now though.

I have no reflux. I have no side effects.

If you have any other questions just shout. More than happy to help.

P.s did I see you live in maidenhead? I lived there for a bit.

thank you, i had athe same prob 15 years ago when i had my gallbladder out, but they were able to still do the op, i think dri are been cuatious and it makes sense to get it investigated befor a big op.

I am staying on the pre op diet but having 1,000 cals rather than 800 and below, that way i will be ready when ever they can fit me after my blood is sorted.

I will have it done, and seeing has my husbands mom has just died, and my 80 year old mum is in hospital, it is probably for the best, i will be able to be there for hubby and attend the funeral with him.

Take care, Janet, x

Hi tealover,

Yes in Maidenhead, Cookham to be exact, love it here.

I really hope I feel the same about my sleeve, I want to be healthy and finally normal - if there's such a thing. Just wish done it years ago!

My main worry is falling back into bad habits and stretching things, although I don't think I will but it's still there.

Are you still taking Vitamins? Do you have any recommendations?

Take care

Mary :-)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
