I had my sleeve at 175 at 5'3 so I was considered obese. I also had a lot of health issues. Don't feel bad for wanting to change your life. Must people are a bit heavier then us but you don't need to look at the numbers. Having weight loss surgery is a life changing event no matter if your 300lbs or 175. We all go through the same struggles when it comes to losing weight. I'm proud to have my sleeve done and I would do it again. If Your doctor says he is fine with doing it then go for it. It's actually harder for our weight group to lose weight because we don't have a lot to lose. Eventually your body will stop losing weight. Surgery is just a tool because you still have to get out there and exercise like everyone else. Good luck!

Hi I'm Lori,

I'm 140 I had band removed because of issues. I'm waiting for sleeve approval. Don't ever feel guilty about wanting to improve yourself inside and outside. I can't do it alone I need the extra help with sleeve . I'm going to do most of the work the sleeve is just a tool so like a good carpenter you need the right tools to build an incredible piece of art. Good luck and no pressure from yourself on yourself , there are plenty of obstacles we deal with every day so make life easier for yourself don't feel guilty about anything ever lol .

Yay! Support Group for people like myself!

I have no words of wisdom to offer. I've finally made the decision to do the sleeve surgery and am eagerly waiting notification that surgeon has agreed to take on my case. Scared I will be denied...Age 42, 5'5", 188lbs (yoyo between 178 and 198). My body likes 8's, lol...

My name is Lori, BTW. I'm in Northern California and awaiting approval from Dr. Garcia in Mexico.

Anyone under 180lbs and getting sleeves?

I have recently started to feel a bit guilty about getting sleeved for being overweight but not obese.

I have other medical issues that have helped me make the decison to get sleeved, but I am curious

to see if there is anyone else in the same boat.

I was 172 got sleeved and it was the best decision I have ever made... I am 142 now and still want to be 120 - 130. It has been 10 months since my surgery. I self payed and would do it all over again in a heartbeat..

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
