I did feel pain like bruise pain if that makes sense but to be honest the gas pain is worse than the incision pain.

The bruise pain makes total sense. I keep hearing sore (like a thousand sit upset sore ) and the gas aftermass is the worst part. thanks for confirming that.

My surgery is same day monday 27 too.

I am having cold feet. I am worried I am gonna be in pain, that I won't be able to eat at all, that something goes wrong. I dunno.

But then I think about all the reasons why I am having the operation and the result I am gonna get.

It is confusing really.

Hope we both have a speedy recovery

Good Luck today... I'm stalling going to bed because I know I will just twist and turn. BUT as you said... we are going to be healthier, happier and wonderful in about a month. As far as "pain" goes... i've been told you feel uncomfortable and sore more than pain. Your incisions and the stomach itself don't hurt but your belly feels like you've done a million sit ups b/c of the gas. Other than that you have little pain so far as I heard. And heck.. I think of it this way... I live with pain every day of my life for the past 10 years.. GIVE ME WHAT YOU GOT so I can live free of pain for the REST OF MY LIFE !!

Thinking of you...

Lisas

I can be a big baby when it comes to pain. My ob heard me yelling though the phone when I was in triage and in labor! Is there anything they can give you for the pain or do you just have to suck it up?

Don't worry, you get pain meds in the hospital. I was able to stop mine by the following morning, but everyone is different and they will take care of your needs. You will also be sent home with pain medication in case you still need it. :)

Hi there...

I'm three days away from surgery. Scheduled for Monday the 27th and I woke up last night at 3:30am freaking out. I guess getting my final clearance made it all real for me and now I am starting to worry about " What if something happens to me ?? What will my hubby and daughter do ?? What if they don't give me enough anestheia and I feel the surgery??"

Take care all and thanks for listening.

Lisa

Well how did you do?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
