My surgery is in about 2 weeks, and I start my nutrition class tomorrow. I'm starting to get the nervous fat girl problems! I'm worried I'll never be able to eat again or enjoy food anymore! is this true? and the holidays are coming up what do we do about holidays? This is another reason I wanted the surgery because I feel my life revolves around food lol Ugggh! I need to calm down.. Did anyone regret the surgery? or their decision to have the surgery?

Hi, I am getting nervous as well, my surgery is in a week . I sometimes think to myself and say I can do it again with no surgery. But that only crosses my mind for a few minutes. If I did 1 diet I did 1 too many and regained all I lost what makes me think I can do it again by dieting.. so on with the journey. Tonight I have a split sleep study. I started the last phase of pre-op diet which is the liquid diet N so far so good. No more self doubting...let us get it done...

Thank you for Sharing. I am tired of the yoyo diet and weight. I have closets full I might fit in that clothes if and when I lose the weight. I know now that I will be able to enjoy those clothes on this journey (but just for a bit) and be able to give them away because they are too big and I am extremely excited knowing in the near future I can go shopping in any department store and shop and buy smaller fashion styles of clothes....... Holidays here I come with a new attitude, a new body, a new healthier mind and I will be styling. Lol...thank you again for sharing...

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
