when i push this button , follow this topic- i was expecting to be "alerted" or something when this topic was replied to (meaning that i made a comment to a specific post)

am i mistaken? otherwise, what does this "button" mean?

thanx

When you "follow" a topic it adds the thread to your subscribed threads section. I'm not sure how that is shown on pc but it's pretty handy on the iPad.

I have assumed that i would receive replies to the ones that i push "follow." This is a great question. :)

One feature of the site is that it automatically "follows"/"subscribes" you to any thread that you participate in. If you want to "follow" a thread that you didn't post in then click follow and it will add it to your "new content" tab.

Sorry I didn't explain it better. I had to open the forum in safari and play with it a minute to understand it better.

If you want email alerts to threads or certain things, you have to change it in your settings. I get emails only when someone "likes" one of my posts. I turned off all the other email alerts because I was getting too many.

To reply on an iPad simply touch the icon in the top right corner of he screen and a drop down menu will appear with th this option

To reply with a quote, there is a down arrow to in the right upper corner of he post you want to quote that will open those options

Also the same arrow on your post will allow you to edit your post.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
