Right there with you ladies I started my pre op diet yesterday. Had a head ache most of the day but I kept telling myself it was my body ridding itself of the toxins. My day is scheduled in Salisbury Md with Dr. Sofronski on 8. 21. So excited!!!

Good luck!!!

I start my 2 weeks tomorrow. If y'all don't mind my asking' date=' what products are y'all using for Meal Replacements?[/quote']

I have 1 week no fat diet, then monday I start the full liquid (surgery 8/27). So far I've been making a Protein shake for Breakfast. It's the Body Fortress whey from Walmart. I like to add imitation banana extract to the vanilla or strawberry. I also bought coconut and root beer extract (root beer float when mixed with vanilla- yum).

I'm on day three of a seven day liquid diet. Not too bad so far, though I've been going to the bathroom every two hours because of it!

I'm on day 8 of my 2 week liquid diet. Surgery on the 21st. It's mostly fine but being around the smells of food or people totally grubbin in front of me is hard. Sometimes I just have to waaaaaalk away ;)

I don't start my 2 week preop diet until 8/21. My surgery is Sept 4th at University of Maryland Medical Center w/ Dr. Mark Kligman. The approved the Protein mix that I've been using for years, so that's great! It actually taste good. I use Dymatize. Piña Colada is my favorite so far. Yum!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
