What R U Eating 11 Day Postop?

Recommended Posts

I'm 11 days post-op and the only thing I have tried is sugar free Jello. I was told not to eat until day 14 like you... I never wanted scrambled eggs so bad in my life. I'm not really hungry, I just miss chewing something in my mouth. I am way over the shakes. Bring on the softies!!!

I was on a similar path at 11 days post-op. I could have full liquids and stuff like baby food though. Now that I'm rolling into the third week, I'm eating eggs, ground turkey, sliced turkey, chicken, etc...

I've had hello too. I'm so sick of Protein shakes! Bring on the softys is right! I tolerated a yogurt & a couple bites of cottage cheese well and it made me feel sooooo much better. I've been light headed dizzy and felt soooo calorie deprived. Just curious if any other 11 dayers are hvn soft food? ??

Hi Ladies, I had my surgery on August 2nd and I AM THE SAME WAY! I am about to throw these Protein Shakes out the window. Geechee girl, It was funny because when I read your post you sound exactly like me. I am in socal and my surgeon is a little more lax and said if you feel up to it you can start the soft things a little earlier than the 14 day mark, but I am a little apprehensive and I think I may stick to the plan. I have been having a hard time getting all of the Protein in because I don't really know how fast I should be sipping. How often are you guys sipping? and what exactly is a sip to you? Pre surgery I was a big gulper so I just want to make sure I am not over sipping. Thanks!!!

I can have yogurt and cottage cheese too... I just don't like it. I see my NUT in 4 days and then I will be eating. I just keep telling myself that the 2-a-day shake crap is almost over. I'm so ready to get my Protein from something else, anything else!

I hv a timer on my phone and it goes off every five minutes for me to drink. And I think a sip is about 3 to 5 tablespoons

Illuminated, trust me when I tell you that when you take in too much you will feel it. I too WAS a gulper and have had to learn to take it slower. I don't know how to explain a sip, but it's more than I would imagine sipping super hot coffee. Does that make sense? I find that it's easier for me to drink hot things faster (chicken broth.) I have the large Tervis tumblers (24oz) and try to drink 3 of those a day. I do two OhYeah shakes and those seem to take all day to drink. I'm just sick to death of them. I am waiting to eat until I see the Nut. I am so tired of being "fluffy" that I will do whatever they say so I can get this weight off.

If your Dr. says you can go ahead and do Beans then try them. I didn't think refried beans was on the list, but I could be wrong. Beans are another thing I am waiting for.

Oh the timer is really smart, I think I will do that. I think I may be taking smaller sips more frequently. I have had to really fight the urge to chug down the protein...

I had my surgery on 7/26. I'm having a Protein Shake for Breakfast, a Greek yogurt for snack, half a can of Soup for lunch, the other half for dinner. Popsicles/jello/or pudding for another snack. I've also tried refried Beans cottage cheese. I drink Water or crystal light throughout the day. They make an Arnold Palmer packet as well... Yummm. sugar free Werthers candy too.

On day 14 my papers say I can have a egg, hard boiled or scrambled. Refried Beans with cheese, string cheese, cottage cheese and canned chicken and tuna. I'm so over this liquid diet!!

I had surgery on Aug 1st, and I'm drinking more Water than anything I'm so bored with the same stuff.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
