  1. I am new to all of this so if you have any suggestions that would be great. I have talked to a few other Chralotte people on here. I guess the best way to start is to find out the area everyone lives in, get names and numbers and find a good place to meet up. I believe we can send private msgs to multiple people to work this out. BeachGirl, I just got back from my 2 week post-op with my NUT and am down 20 lbs. I am very excited. Chuckles, I spoke with a lady that can only meet on the weekends also. Let's all talk and figure this thing out..

  6. My trip is to Jamaica. I have never been so I don't know what I will be in for when I get there. You may think this is weird, but this is all due to my best friend's husband being an a-hole. That's why this is not planned. I was not supposed to be going on this trip... he was. It's one of those all inclusive places and I am just unsure as to what will be available for me there. I buy the premade shakes and have never had the powders. I am trying to listen to all of you and figure our the best course of action.

  8. Thank you all so much. This has been a huge help. I still wish they made some sort of pill and I could just take with water to make sure I got what I needed, but this is great. I wasn't sure about the powder and if they would try to stop you or not at the gate or baggage check.

  10. I live in Charlotte, NC. We have walmart, but I have never heard of HEB. I am sure I can get my Dr. to write me a note or something.
  11. I am sure this is a stupid question, but can you buy the powder and blender bottle at the Vitamin Shoppe? I really wouldn't do this if it wasn't important. I am too new to feel secure is risking all this, but I am glad y'all are here to help.
  12. Is the powder any good? I have never had any. I am just worried about flying with it.
  13. I just found out that I will be going on an unexpected trip. I don't think I will be able to pack my shakes with me. Are there any protein pills or something small that I will be able to take? I am 12 days post-op as of today (8/12) and by the time I fly I will be 4 weeks post-op. I know that I will be able to eat some fish and chicken by then, but I don't want to risk not getting enough protein. Can anyone help me out here?
  14. Go State, I'm just jealous that's all. They are a staple in the Carolina's also. I just miss them.
  15. AlwaysSeating, I think the Dr. Are concerned that our stomachs aren't healed yet. That's why the say no food. Also, as sick as I am of shakes, I will drink them so my hair doesn't fall out. That's a risk I cannot take!
  16. Check out the OhYeah! Shakes. They come in lots of flavors. The are high protein... 32 grams and taste great.
  17. Max, I'm from the south and would love nothing more than to have a bowl of grits. I'm mad bc my Dr. said no corn. That means no grits.
  18. Mine too. And I'm still mad about the mashed potatoes and grits. Go State must be southern, no one else likes grits!
  19. I was told no straws! You are so right, so many different ways to go about this.
