A few last questions:

1) How do you feel?

2) What has your experience been with the VSG?

3) Anything you would change?

4) What don't you miss?

1. I feel pretty good overall. I am having some gallbladder issues... Currently seeing doctors to figure all if that out. But besides that no issues. I haven't thrown up at all since surgery. My biggest thing is when I eat something I shouldn't (high in fat or sugar) I get diahrhea (sp).

2. My experience has been very good. Besides the gallbladder issue its been very easy. I have had a stall here and there (especially around my period) but that is normal. I also am losing hair... But that is normal as well.

3. If I could change anything I would like to have been more informed by my doctors about gallbladder issues. I did a lot of research and attended all appointments but somehow the gallbladder issue never came up. I am now on actigal but I know a lot of people are prescribed that to take right away... I wish I had it to prevent the gallbladder problems... Not to treat it afterwards like I am.

4. What don't I miss? I don't miss my life revolving around food. Now don't get me wrong... I still think about it a lot and I deal with head hunger A LOT! But my body is never starving. I can do a lot more now that I've lost weight. I feel somewhat more outgoing... I can fit into more chairs. I can lick my toe (I know... Disgusting but I just had to try!). I can clean myself better. I can walk with NO back pain. So many things.

Hope this helps!

Hi' date=' what was your weight at time of surgery?

Great Job![/quote']

My weight was 370. I wasn't required to lose any weight before surgery. The only stipulation was that I couldn't gain any weight before surgery.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
