Recommended Posts

Has anyone done the surgery with Dr. Wizman in margate florida? I spoke with him and he seems good but I would love to hear from someone who actually went through the procedure with him.

thanks!

Well even though i have had no replies, both my parents did do the surgery with Dr. Wizman and are very happy. He had good bedside manners and seemed to care, he even gave his personal cell number in case there were any problems after the surgery.

Maybe you can ask Dr Wizman for patient referrals to find out their experience. You also have your parents to speak to about their experience, sounded like you did not know anyone who used him.

I actually just had my surgery by him on May 3rd instead of the 6th. I thought he did a fantastic job. Aside from soreness and the incision sites, I almost feel like I had a fake surgery. The nurses thought I was great at recovering. I also unknowingly had a hiatal hernia that he repaired.

I'm great. I never really felt pain. Of course it hurt but it felt like I did a 1000 situps! Nothing unbearable. I hardly used My morphine drip or any of the pain meds at home. When I did use it it was for a Migraine.< /p>

Im glad to hear you are doing well! Im doing my surgery in a month and i am very excited. My dad did absolutly great. He was very nauseous in the hospital but that only lasted a few days. My mom also did very well, althouhg she had a small complication in her incision site which is now fine. He was very good about answering his phone and keeping in contact.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
