Two months out from surgery tomorrow. Started out today with a 6.5 mile bike ride. Down 36 lbs. Clothes are getting way to big. Put on my panties yesterday and was sure I must have them on backwards, so I took them off and turned them around and then knew I had them on right the first time, lol. Look in the mirror and don't look smaller to me, but know I must be. Blood pressure is down to normal without medication, and blood sugar is down to normal.

I seem stuck at 145 lbs; can't seem to get below this for some reason. I feel good where I'm at right now but I sure would like to get to my goal weight of 138 just so I'm not in the official category of being overweight for once in my life. I so get such inspiration from this forum so will try to read as much as I can here in the next few weeks to get me to that last push.

Thanks everyone!

Queen, you are always an inspiration to me and I lof your blog. Maybe if you try changing up your exercise, e.g. ride a bike instead of running, add an extra day of strength training, put in some yoga? Something to confuse your body a little bit. They say that sometimes spurs you on to loose weight again.

I just wanted yr opinion. I just got approval to get sleeved on 8 /20 however I am scheduled for 2wk cruise Oct 15 which would put me about 8 wks post opt. Would u wait until after cruise to have surgery or do think 8 wks is far enough out. By the way I love reading yr blog.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
