I am new here. Actively post...a lot, but new. I have seen a few instances where poster may become preachy, sanctimonious and selfriteous. (sp?) and then people in defensivenes may become downright mean . But for the most part, posters are informative, understanding and supportive. Take the good and throw out the bad, no need to throw the baby out with the bathwater. I am not yet sleeved, i look to these boards for information to prepare for what will be the next big thing in my life. It helps me pass the time as I obsess over whether or not my insurance approves, once I finish the requirements. I will need the support of these boards once I am sleeved, to get me through the rough Patches, the stalls and the food mourning. I am amazed at what I have gleaned from these boards. i have even taught my NUT a thing or two about the high Protein foods and shakes out there. My ultimate hope, once I get sleeved and begin my journey is to meet local people on these boards, maybe have a non food get together, share our success and our glitches in person. I'm sure they are out there, I mean, every woman in Fairfield County CT is skinny, it cant be all "natural", can it? LOL! Don't let the meanies get you down, and hang in there. There are plenty of us here to support you and cheer you on...and once in a while...scold you to prevent you from hurting yourself.

Rarely do I see negativity here. Occasionally, yes. But with so many ppl from all walks of life, not every persons way of responding will appeal to every individual. Now,I have seen others step in when one member is treating or responding in a blatantly rude or disrespectful fashion, I am one of those who will say " hey, kinda uncalled for. We're here for eachother" and if I respond unduly to someone, I would hope someone would "tap" me on the shoulder and help me see my folly. Perhaps Ive had a bad day, or my hormones are raging lol.I take what each person offers with gratitude and respect and decide which advice is best for me. But I appreciate all well meaning responses, and consider the lack of inflection in a post.I consider these ppl my "friends" and "sleeve family" and am grateful for them. Im not even sleeved yet, but have learned so much here. Im sorry you didn't have the same experience. But I wish you the best and good luck in your journey.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
