I am still PRE op, so I cannot speak from experience, but I thought you were SUPPOSED to feel hunger, no? At least eventually? I thought that the sleeve would make you get full faster and require less food to get full, but that you would still get hungry when it was time to eat. No?

Are you sure it's not head hunger or indigestion?

Oh, I most definitely get hungry. I get kinda ravenous sometimes even. Thankfully though, once I get something to eat, even a little...I'm ok. But I do get hungry and that happened after just a few weeks for me. Nothing like I USED to get, however. And it took a LOT more to fill me up. ;)

I am getting that too. Like Dooter said it's not how it used to be, though.

I feel hunger every day. It just takes a lot less to fill me up now. I think its healthy to be hungry.

I was told that approximately a year after surgery the remainder of your stomach can start to produce ghrelin again. Maybe this is what you're feeling? Is it bad, like you're hungry beyond when you eat? Or is it pretty well satisfied with your current eating?

once i snack on something small or drink, im fine. i just get appetites quite often. like every 3hrs, i start feeling hungry again. it kinda scares me because i now need to start watching how im satisfying this feeling where as before, i planned when to eat. before, id eat 2 meals & would be disgusted with food for the rest of the day. now im eating 4-6x a day whether its a Protein Bar, some fruits, or chicken & corn.

Hi! I'm just like Dooter- I get hungry and full on starving at times, but it does subside after a small meal. Maybe ur having more persistent feelings of hunger because u r eating some fruit and corn. Maybe u r consuming less Protein than what u were consuming in the early months after having the sleeve done. Just a thought. :) good luck to figuring things out. Btw- I didn't know that we would start producing grelin again. Sigh.

I was sleeved in December and I am starting to have the same problem. I never really used to have an appetite or get hungry, but now I feel like I am hungry every few hours. I am quite frustrated, as I dont want to gain back my weight. :(

when i got sleeved, i took in no Protein because i couldnt tolerate shakes. then at week 5, i was diagnosed with a leak & didnt eat for 5-6 wks after that. i upped my Protein from about 20g to 90-110g of protein so its definitely not that. :/

i know what you mean. i guess this is where we have to start making healthier choices instead of bad habits and this is where we begin to maintain what we've lost & struggle to lose more!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
