am i normal?

Recommended Posts

I ate a huge lunch. The total of 4 plates of food.< /p>

I'm not kidding. 4!!!!!

OK, they were small plates.

And the food was, well, it's called dolma.. it's rice tucked in some leaves. I had like 20 finger sized dolmas. And two meat balls, which are not exactly meatballs since they are fried.

I hate myself.

And I had actual surgery. My stomach is supposed to have been smaller. Not bigger!!

Plus, even right now, I'm not that full!!!!

Is this normal??

Do you think my band is broken???:speechles

It's not actually smaller before you get a fill.

I hate the fill. I'm scared of it.

Do you guys know how not to receive email each time someone posts?

And one more thing. My scars are still visible, very, very visible. Normal, right?

Sounds like dolmades (what we call them anyway) -- nasty things! Definitely a "like it or hate it" food. :o

A few things...

Was hunger driving your portions? If so, definitely ask about a fill.

Was it something other than hunger? If so, fill probably isn't the answer.

Also, don't expect your stomach to be smaller, at least not from anything other than not having to stretch... that's the other surgery. :)

Click on User CP up at the top of the page. Then you can individually unsubscribe to threads you have posted in.

Sorry to hijack here but...you have to unsubscribe to each thread? Sheesh, what a pain. That would explain why I'm still getting these emails!!!;)

There is a box that you can highlight on the right that will unsubscribe to all the threads on that page. I did like 14 of the pages with that box.

You can also disable all e-mail notifications. Go to the "User CP" (where you go to change your sig) and look for the "options" menu item on the left(about 3-4 under the sig). Partway down in that is an option to not get e-mail notifications when subscribed threads are updated.

Neverland, you have reminded me of a recent event that happened with my DW, the banded one. We had dined at a VERY popular Mexican food restaurant in Louisiana, but my wife's experience was less than satisfactory. When we arrived back in our little town, all she wanted to do was go out to the local establishment and dive lips first into a plate of their cheese enchiladas. She was going to FEAST on those enchiladas. GORGE herself....Fortunately, thanks to her little silicone buddy, and after she had ordered the Child's plate, she was able to eat less than one enchilada and a couple of forkfuls of rice and Beans. Full to overflowing. Let's hear it for that last fill (number 6, I believe) and gooooooood restriction.

Just hang in there, you'll get there eventually.

Neverland;

What size band do you have? The 4cc, or the VG band? How much fill do you have in the band?

Protein first. Your stomach is smaller. Your band is not broken.

Eat your Protein first, small bites, chew well, stop if not full after 20 minutes. Sometimes we have not feel our "full signal" for so long it is hard to feel when we do get it, and we really are full when we feel like we are not, if you know what I mean. By waiting a little while before tucking in again, we give ourselves time to see if we can feel the full signal.

And don't hate yourself! This is a lifestyle change, and it is hard work. It takes time to get the hang of it.

We are here for you!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
