No additional cost. If you have someone going with you tell them to eat early if they intend on eating at the cafeteria that is in Mi Doctor...it closes early! A real good burrito place is just around the corner too. Sorry to those of ya'll on the pre-op and me talking about food....

If you haven't tried Premier Protein shakes, you might give it a try. Each one has 30 grams of Protein. That much protein tends to make you feel full longer. Ya'll hang in there....it is so worth it and it gets easier! I got sleeved by Dr. Lopez, in Tijuana, on August 27th.....down 20 pounds already and ya'll will love him and his wife, they are great!

My friend that is going with me asked about money. Should she bring travelers checks or is cash good enough? What about Walmart, will they take American money? I will be in Puerto Vallarta.

It will seem like it will take FOREVER to get here. I scheduled my surgery for 9/21 on 8/2 and time has going by so slow.....

Well I had to schedule mine in Jan in order to have time to save the money and cause I already had time scheduled at work to be off for most of Jan.......So Jan 17 2013 will be my new beginning in Puerto Vallarta with Dr. Lopez. I am so excited and anxious and it can't get here soon enough!!!!!!

Hello all, my surgery has finally been approved for Oct. 8th in Tijauna with Dr. Lopez. !!!! I am sooo ready and excited to start my new life. It took an agonizing 3 additional weeks to be approved because Dr. Lopez wanted me to get an echocardiogram, due to a previous heart attack. I'm glad he's taking precautions with my health, it was just a frustrating process with my cardiologist here in the states.

Thanks to everyone here for their posts. I've been lurking for several months gathering information and thanks to everyones input I believe that I made the right choice in Dr.'s for me.

Is there anyone out there having surgery October 8th?

I hear a lot of talk about a drain. How does Dr Lopez do it? Will we have drains at all? If so, for how long?

The drain is put in at surgery. I was sleeved August 27th, a Monday, and Dr. Lopez took my drain out on Thursday evening. It did not hurt, just felt "foreign". You will be glad to finally get it out.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
