So im down 90 pounds since march 21 2012. 3 weeks ago i really started working out heavy as in 2 mile jog, 1 mile eliptical, 30 mins weights, 10 min core, half mile swim approx 5 days a week. I eat around 1600 cals a day with 90-100 grams of Protein. I have been between 240 and 244 for like a freaking month and cannot break it. This is my first stall. My nut said up cals 300 or so on workout days. Any suggs or words of encouragement

With all that I would imagine you age gaining muscle Weight while losing fat weight...... That would be Great B)

Though people will tell you 1 pound of muscle vs. 1 pound of fat still equals a pound gaining muscle mass will tend to make you stall a bit or even gain a little bit at first. Muscle is denser and occupies less space.

The more muscle you build, the more fat you burn, which in turn speeds up your metabolism. Which will mean you will need to put in more calories to burn fuel efficiently.

It may seem like you are getting bigger at first but as the fat burns away you will see a leaner you. Give it some time and you will see the more muscles you build the leaner you get. Sometimes the scale lies and it's not really about what it says, it's the entire package.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
