Recommended Posts

Mine was cancelled from yesterday to possibly the August 14th, if I get better and asthma under control! To think, I was this close to having it done. Oh well things happen for a reason.

Hey guys, just thought I would check in, My surgery went well too, the doctor actually said the word beautifully. Recovery is recovery, I am sore and stiff and a little grumpy. My stomach is also growling but it is like it is in a foreign language now. I have no idea what it means

Well, you are beautiful, and he's as art man to notice! I am with you on the growling, I have no earthly idea how to figure out what my tummy needs. I think it will just be trial and error in figuring it out. It reminds me of when my first son was born; he would scream and cry and I would keep trying things until he stopped. That's how it is for me and my new baby tummy. I think I'm starting to be able to figure out what some of the rumbles mean.

How are y'all doing with liquid and Protein? ?? My mission today was to work hard at getting my numbers in. So far I'm at 26 grams of protein and 50 oz of liquid. Yesterday my numbers were horrible, due to swallowing issues an painful gas. I'm now counting down the days until I get to move to full liquids!!!! 3Days!!!

I know what you mean about getting all the liquids in I was so proud of myself today I finished a 16oz water bottle in 2 hours. The Isopure is a little harder to drink as fast.

Here's to a better tomorrow.

Mt stomach is still talking to me in a different language. but the good news is I only really have to use my pain medicine at night. Laying down s still pretty uncomfortable. I know I am not taking in my full amount of Protein. Water wise I am golden, I sip on it all day. Moving around is better too, but it is easy to over do it. It is like one minute I am fine and the next I am over my limit and dead tired.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
