Nealry A Year Already!

Recommended Posts

My year sleeve anniversary is almost a month away, on August 30. I have lost 95 lbs and feel amazing! I really want to be to my goal of 155 but know it might not happen. How have the rest of you got back/stayed on track at this point in your journey? I do well most days but slip more than I would like. Any tips?

Awesome! Congrats on your success! July 11 was my 6 month surgiversary. I've lost 70lbs till now and have 20+ pounds to lose to make my surgeons goal of 165. I think I can do it before my 1 year mark. My dream goal of 130 seems very far at this moment LOL!

What is your current weight?

I am 9 months post op and have lost approximately 77 lbs. I have a bounce of about 4 lbs periodically. I eat mostly Proteins and veggies. I don't like breads, pastas, rice, and have cut back on potatoes. I can actually eat more now than before. It is very easy to get off course and have foods I don't need to eat. I find myself eating mindlessly at times, but still can't get too much food in. I would like to get down to 135 lbs, but I haven't really lost anything for a few weeks. I really want to focus on eating healthy and lean for now on. I really have to watch fats and eat lean now. I love my sleeve! :)

Anyone having big issues with loose skin? I am planning on getting sleeved by beginning of August. I need to loose around 120-135 lbs. and am worried about alot of loose skin. I am big up top and bottom so hoping that will help but the arms and stomach skin are my biggest concern. Anyone got any advice?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
