Cj...omg that is one sexy house! I mean truly sexy lines! What a gem. Mind you I can tell you from experience you probably need to pump half a mill or more into it but what's money when you have your own Cinderella turrets! They have a pretty tight timeline on restoration though. We are on a six year plan (one major project a year basically) and even with all or most of the work being done for us we are still pushing it to be done then. But I hope someone saves it. It's unreal!

Our house is the original McMansion (1890s version). It fills it's entire lot and blocks the neighbors views. Better construction than today's McMansions, but it was still built to show off the original owners money bags lol. I wonder if he would keel over again if he knew what it will cost to restore it right? I don't know how to post a link here but if you google James house port Townsend aw you'll see a gazillion pics since it was a b&b for so long. I couldn't tell you how many people have slept and even died in my bed lol....but we have since changed the sheets :P.

Sorry to chime in here, but your house is GORGEOUS! I have to admit to some serious house envy in terms of both beauty and size - where I live nowadays (outside the U.S.), housing prices are insane and not a single square inch is taken for granted - and we're all hoarders... Sigh.

Yup butter that's my box. That pic was taken in the 80s (that fence is long gone and we've put in a more appropriate one). I've also redone the gardens in a more formal style as they were in 1890ish). Funny I was at the garden store a couple of towns away and the gal knows me because I've bought so many hydrangeas (I have 73 different ones now lol). We got to talking and she asked if she could stop and see the garden...conversation went to where it was and I found out she spent her honeymoon at my house...in my bed lol! (we bought it fully furnished).

Thank you all for the compliments. They mostly belong to mr james, the original builder (James street in Seattle, James island off of the coast and the founder of pioneer square in Seattle). This was his retirement home away frim his native england. We do love this old box but I do like to caution folks looking at these big old houses. This one is in great shape, but our original estimate to rehab was 500k which we now realize will be more like a couple mill. It's 8000 sq ft of work work work! Eventually work that's hopefully museum quality, but even at half of that it wouldn't be enough. But we've been blessed and sharing it with the house feels right to us. We share those blessings by letting charities use it for fund raising as well which is fun for us too.

Lol I feel like this is the old house website! This topic has taken a different turn...but an oh so positive one. I hope the end of the day was a great one for all!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
