8/16/03 Castle Rock- Be there!

Recommended Posts

On Saturday, August 16th, I'll be attending a lunch in Castle Rock for folks who have had (or are interested in) WLS.

There will be RNY-ers, DS-ers, and I'm interested in increasing the number of Lap Banders so I don't get teased too much :D

Email me if you want to carpool (BandedMay03@aol.com) or just show up, okay?

Where: Pegasus on Plum Creek

313 Jerry Street, Castle Rock

(303) 688-6746

When : noon on Saturday, August 16, 2003

Just wanted to send an update for anyone thinking of coming next time...

I went to the Colorado Rockers lunch today and had a great time. There were two other cool Lap Band women (one of whom had just had her belly button pierced!) :) in addition to around a dozen other WLS folks. Everybody went around and shared where they were from, what kind of surgery they had or were going to have, and if they were post-surgery how much weight they'd lost. It was fun to connect with people who understood what I'm going through. I think it's also great to be able to share resources (docs, insurance tips, Protein drink suggestions, etc.). There were people from pre-op to one month post-surgery to over a year post-surgery and looking into plastic surgery.

Next month's meeting will be September 27th in Lakewood and it'll be a clothes swap!

Annette

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
