I Got My Surgery Date.... July 30Th... Anyone Else With Me.

Recommended Posts

I am so totally ready for this. I feel like I have researched this until I was blue in the face. I am confident this is the right step for me.... I am trapped in a fat person's body. I haven't felt like my self for five years. I want to dance, and karaoke again :-)

My doctor only makes his patients to a liquid pre op diet the day before. Can you believe we only have 10 days left?? I am getting very anxious!!!!

I can't wait for these 10 days to be up!! Im so ready to move on over to the other side. Its funny how these surgeons do things so differently. Glad to see others going in on the same day.. we can help and support each other.

We will definitely need to keep each other posted... I just found out I have to be at the hospital at 5:30am. The hospital is an hour away. This means I have to be up at 3:30 ouch!

I'm the 30th as well!! And I'm also doing a preop liquid diet (started Monday). It's my choice as I'm not over the 300# mark that is required by my doctor for a liquid diet.

I do Protein shakes (Chike, EAS Myoplex and Muscle Milk) throughout the day, but I need to get in more Water. I switched over to Silk Soy milk to hopefully help not get a lactose intolerance. And I allow myself 1 Soup a day just to get in some flavor and warmth. I haven't gotten the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury yet. Where does everyone get it from?

I've done a juice fast (nothing but blended up fruits and vegetables) for 10 days straight before, so this isn't too bad for me yet. Today was the first day I actually missed food - but that was only because I grabbed my girls a happy meal since we were running errands all day today. And no, I didn't cheat once (not even to lick the ketchup off of my finger!).

Wow mustangsherry that's really early...but it will all be worth it. The Cleveland Clinic won't even give a time until the day before. I'm with you though.. I have done lots of research and know the risks vs the benefits and I know this is the right decision for me. I have MS and my doctor said I will feel alot better after this too.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
