That is so frustrating!! Ugh' date=' I hope you get it resolved.

I have to get new medical ins and needed a letter of prior coverage from my last insurance carrier and they put I had coverage for one month! I have had coverage with them for 8 years! I'm still dealing with those idiots to send me a correct letter.

Good luck!!![/quote']

Oh wow. That can really screw you up bc they won't cover anything preexisting with it saying 1 month prior coverage! Good Luck!!

I did give them the date. They say it wasn't done. I have a receipt bc I'm a cash pay patient, so I've PAID for this test! I will not pay again. Their screw up not mine!

Make sure you always get a receipt. Whenever I pay in cash they pull out the book and hand write one.

Keep yelling because they should still have a record of you being there at that time and why. Medical professionals have to account for every patient they see and detail what was done. They must have something there. You just need to keep pushing them to find it.

I ended up having to get another one. They know I was there, and had it done. I dealt with a completely different group of people this time with the EKG and they were very competent and she had them my EKG the same day! It was very refreshing knowing nothing else would go wrong!

I kept my receipts where I paid, believe me! Lol

How does a hospital just "lose" an EKG? . Incompentence at it's highest level!!! LOL. I would be pretty upset as well. Especially if it pushed my possible surgery date back. I hope all is well now man. Good luck to you.

Hey Jonathan ..do you have your EOB from your insurance provider showing they paid for the service? If so, I would let them know they could find the test results from the date of service the insurance was billed for it or they could redo it for free!

Agh never mind..saw where you are private pay..always get a receipt with written details of services you received that day when you pay with cash! You never know who is honest and who isn't!

That totally $ux! I would be Soooo Fuming myself if that happened to me, I'm so sorry to hear that especially when you had to pay for them I know these test cost a bundle. If you have a receipt than the doctor you had the EKG with should have a copy? My doctor keep a copy for my file as well as sent one to my bariatric doctor/anestesiologist. I hope this works out for you!

Best Wishes :)

Grrrrr. Glad to hear that the second tester got it right and sent your EKG over. I would've been fuming too. We take a lot of time to get all of these tests done and to have to back track and take them again would piss me off. Then to be talked down to like I don't know what I'm talking about would've sent me over the edge.

That's exactly what made me angry! Don't try to tell me idk what medical tests I've had! I know! I was there for crying out loud!

It's taken care of so that's all that matters now!

I am SO MAD!

The nurse just called from my Dr's office and said the Hospital says I did not have an EKG done! They went so far to say that sometimes patients think they have tests but they don't!

I now have to take time out of my schedule because THEY LOST my EKG! I know I had an EKG, I sat in a little room, had quite a few leads hooked up to me, they printed out a piece of paper about a foot long with squiggly lines all over it and she said, Your EKG looks really good! SO YES I had an EKG you IDIOTS!

I paid for these services already & they better not even think about charging me again for them!

WOW am I livid! Someone will probably get their ass chewed out today!

OK thanks for listening, I had to vent! What really made me mad was them making it sound like I didn't know what I was talking about, that I didn't know what an EKG was and that I had no had one! That is what pisses me off!

Johnathan

ROTFLMAO!!!!! OMG This is hilarious!!!! Not the scenario. But you being so upset. I especially loved when you said... and I quote... "somebody is going to get their ass chewed out today"!!!! Bwahahahahaha. I'm sure it'll work itself out. I was upset the other day because I was 7 days away from surgery and the hospital called me talking about they want to do an EKG and they want a letter from my PCP doctor saying she gave me a pre-op physical... SAY WHAT!!!? I was never told either one of those were a requirement for me beforehand and now 1 week before surgery you want to call me with that BS and think I'm supposed to schedule appointments at the last minute!!? NOT HAPPENING!!! Luckily, I already had an EKG done in January so I faxed a copy to them and I told them I would not be going to my PCP. So they said they will use the last visit with my surgeon as a pre-op physical. Fine with me!!! Moving right along. So yes, sometimes these people are incompetent. But stuff happens. I also ask for a copy of my records the day of. Next time just make them print out your EKG's and you take a copy with you. I'm sure it'll work itself out. Don't make your blood pressure rise. But, trust, I know how you feel!!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
