Not quite ready for the gym...

I have been walking, exercising in the pool and using my treadmill but now I am looking for something else. I am BORED!

What low -med intensity videos do you use?

You're a few months ahead of me, but I already plan to purchase an elliptical bike. It's sort of a cross between an exercise bike and an elliptical machine. You work your legs, and get a great cardio workout. have you tried adding weights to your exercise regime? Regular hand weights while on the treadmill will intensify your workout. Perhaps a zumba video, or some other cardio workout video can add both fun and results to your routine.

Good luck!

paranayama yoga - the first best step to yoga, in my opinion...it is the "breathing" yoga...do light steps, or get the book "Yoga for Wimps".

Take a balloon and keep it off the ground by swatting it.

Take a "body stroke" bath - you start at your head and using a body bar go from your neck to yyour knees or feet in one long AMAZINGLY FEEL GOOD stroke, and do it again - repeat till you feel like spaghetti or the Water gets cold...

PS - keep a notebook of "thinks that might be fun" and add everything you think of, anytime you think of it.

I like the 10-minute video series.

I bought a balance ball, and I really like working out with that. It is easier for me to do sit ups and push ups using a balance ball. These are exercises I really struggle with without a balance ball.

I use small hand weights in 3 and 5 pounds.

An elastic band is another great (and cheap) at-home exercise item.

I started with Wii exercise games like Wii Fit and the dance games. There is also that one that does a 30-day challenge, but I can't think of the name. Wii Active? I think that's it.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Gonna try yoga and the WII fit and see if that will help break up the monotony!

I absolutely love Leslie Sansone walk away the pounds videos. My absolute favorite is her newest "5 Really Big Miles". It is structured where you can do any of them individually or all at once. She is motivating and very inspirational. The video came from Walmart for $10.77 and included a stretchie band that you use for toning in two of the 5 miles. It is FANTASTIC. Sometimes I do all 5 other times, like last night when I had done other stuff, i only did 4 of the miles. The night before my daughter and I just did 2.

Love my wii fit!!! Even tho im down 52 lbs, still not ready for the gym and the (perhaps imagined) looks I would get at the gym. I live in a very small town and there is only one gym, and so anyone who works out goes to that gym. Ill do my exercise in private! lol

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
