Insurance company regulation are rediculous. Wish I had $14k so that I could just pay out of pocket.

I was denied. But decided that my health and future were worth it. My norther passed away and I received a small inheritance. So I took the money and spent it on myself. I ended up with a gallbladder removal and a hiatal hernia repair so maybe I'll get lucky and some will be covered.

My pcp was in favor of the surgery for health reasons, but had nothing to do with the acceptance. Wish she could have helped. Oh well. I'm saving lots of money on food!

I understand. Ihad to use a service called "care credit" online to finance it, it is like an awful credit card but pays bills for bariatric/cosmetic/in-covered services. I know it is awful going into debt, but i feel I dont really have a choice. I think u are doing well with knowing what u can loose without bmi being an insurance factor. They sure do make it hard.

I would try to finance it however I have paid 400 dollars a month to this insurance for about 11 years now.... I refuse to let it be a waste. I will attempt to jump through the hoops. If they deny I will try a different route may take longer. But I am determined

That's why i'm going to Dr Kelly. I'm borderline bmi and if I jump thru all their hoops I will be too low and they will deny. Going into debt for this but for once i'm putting me first ahead of visa, mastercard car payments, hubby hobbies etc. good luck

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
