I'm on day 5 and I just cheated. I'm on the 3 Protein Shakes and 1 Lean Cuisine a day diet. The shakes make me sick to my stomach and I've only been getting 1/2 of 1 a day and my Lean Cuisine. Today I had Jello, half of a shake and a 6'' turkey sub from Subway. Did I totally ruin this? Am I at any risks for surgery now? Totally not worth it. No more cheating for this girl.

Obviously, you know you should try and not cheat. You sure don't want your doctor to get in there to do the surgery and back out because your liver hasn't shrunk enough. There was a girl on here awhile back who posted about that happening to her. If you do cheat (and I'm not advocating that) don't cheat with a high carb meal. Carbs is what keeps your liver from shrinking. I agree with the other poster that you should still be fine though. The preop diet does get easier. I promise. Hang in there and before you know it, you won't be craving carbs and you'll have tons of energy. Best of luck to you in your journey.

You HAVE TO HAVE TO HAVE TO Take in ALL of your shakes every day, or this will happen again. Keep yourself as full of the allotted Protein Shakes, your one meal, and all the Clear Liquids you can fit into yourself! chicken broth, Jello, sugar free drinks....suck on some sugar free hard candies if that will help you. Those were my big help during the pre op diet. If you can't take this Protein you're on, then find one you can drink because you NEED it for success!! If your doc put you on this one specifically, then see if there is another one they can give you. I'm sure they will work with you.

I'm not advocating that you cheat and like what the previous posters have said. I have come to believe, though, that the vast majority of folks cheat at least a little bit on their pre-op diets. But they are able to recover and then do what they need to do, so it doesn't become a problem. I actually think doctors expect it.

That said, you've done it, so now pull yourself together and do what you need to do!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
