Rookie Question, What Is An Nsv?

Recommended Posts

It's a non scale victory. Climbing a flight of stairs without getting out of breath, fitting into an old shirt that hasn't fit in years, having someone comment on how good you look, having the energy to do something that you haven't been able to do in years,

etc... all non scale victories.

Not having to wear a selt-belt extender. The door of the car not banging your hip, actually seeing your lap when sitting down, finding your first chest bone, seeing your toes, touching your toes, noticing my eyes are big now (seems the more weight I gained the larger amount of skin and puffier my eyes were, the smaller my actually eyes looked because of the weight around it. Noticing my cheek bones, sitting in a normal doctor's chair instead of standing around because I hated feeling wedged in.

These are all mine recently, and oh my gosh they make me happy. I look forward to so many more!!

I was actually told I have an exotic almond shaped eye, and it was obvious I had "more than european" blood - lol - actually they are right, but I don't think they meant Cherokee and Aleut (think Alutian Islands, Alaska) - but the eye comment flattered me MUCH more than I expected it to, I always felt my features disappeared into my fat.

That was a really big deal to me, that makes me smaller than I have ever been in my adult life. I can even squeeze into some twelves, but only at home for encouragement, lol...NO MORE MUFFIN TOPS! never, even if it means saying I am wearing a size smaller, lol.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
