That's so peculiar. It must have been an oversight or maybe there was adhesion around the port that made it unsafe to remove?

OMG, I would be furious! Having that gawd awful port gone is so nice. I just can't imagine for the life of me, why would the surgeon leave it there. I got to bring my band, and port home with me as a souvenir. ( =

I'm really sorry that happened to you, best of luck.

OMG, I just double checked my tummy to make sure mine was really gone. It's such a relief to have it out. Did they give ou any explanation what so ever? Maybe there was to much scar tissue preventing the removal? I never even imagined that would be a possibility. How long did you have the lapband? I hope your situation gets resolved soon. I completely understand wanting to wait awhile before having another surgery. Good luck and let us know how you're doing.

Lord you and me both, I just checked my tummy too....he made a incision right below where my port used to be, and I didnt feel anything praise God....

one the reasons why I wanted revision was because that port would hurt when I bend over and stay in that position for too long of a time....

I would schedule a appt to talk to your doctor directly to ask him why in the sam hill did he left that thing in you?!?!

Ok.... So it seems as though my port actually is out!!! I felt a knot and thought it was there, but it's just scar tissue!! I'm sorry I seem to have created a rant on here! I have been assured there is no more port! :) It didn't show them removing it during surgery, but it never really showed the attached port either (I only saw the tube that hooked to the band), so my mind just went kinda wild! Again, sorry for the confusion! And thank you for the support when I really genuinely thought it was still in there!

I'm VERY glad it is just confusion and NOT you having to deal with getting another surgery! Woohoo!

Totally understandable. My port sight was actually the sorest spot post surgery and still remains a little tender a month out. More proof that the band was a piece of garbage screwing up our insides. Hope you are feeling better.

Oh yay! Scar tissue is easy to deal with...or ignore. Leaving the port in would have been a pain, eventually.

Glad to hear the good news.

LOL I am so glad I found the follow up answer. Your title and then deleted posts had me worrying. I'm working on band to sleeve conversion, my port position (3rd placement) is right in between my boobs and I'm so over that. Rubs my bra, hurts when I'm active, that's one thing I'm really excited about, I was afraid there's a reason they may leave it!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
