Hello everyone. I'm 34 and scheduled for my pre-op on Thursday 06/28/12. I'm so excited about this new journey in my life. So thankful that I found such a wonderful group of people to share this moment with!

I'm a newbie too, don't even have a date schedule yet, but everyone on this site is amazing! I have learned so much from the posters :)

I am new and hoping to be sleeved soon..waiting for my letter to get sent to insurance for approval..after one last Doc returns a call..I am very happy to meet every one.. Good luck to you all

Hey everyone:) I am new to the group,just wanted to say hey and introduce myself!!!

My name is Celina, I am 35 I will be a January2013 sleever and I'm super excited. I've been following the boards for months just never signed on. ALL of you are inspiring and am so thankful there is a place we can come together and educate, encourage, vent, laugh and cry!!! Looking forward to building positive relationships on here.

      Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

        As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

        Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

        Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

      Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
