We were in Wesley Chapel/Zephyrhills 2004-2007 and then moved back to IL and every day have asked ourselves why?? LOL We are moving back down after May 2013 when my daughter graduates high school. House prices are half what they were when we were there before - so thankful that we didn't buy then. I am biased as I LOVE Florida LOL I'll miss spring and fall but not winter - snow is way over rated! I love the Water - even if it is 1 1/2 hours from Wesley Chapel. It gives me an immediate sense of calm. It can get cold in FL - I remember the kids wearing gloves several times in the winter and breaking my coat out also. I remember a very cold February one year. My husband would actually like to move farther south but I don't know about jobs the farther south you go. At least with the Tampa area, you have St Pete/Clearwater and Lakeland areas to commute to. I worked in Tampa and my husband in Lakeland. Traffic used to really suck during commute but they have done alot of road work so I don't know how it is - has to be a little better. Totally agree with missmachine on the slums next to the nice neighborhoods. Things can change quick. It isn't unusual to see a trailer park next to a gate community.

It's that way in Albuquerque a lot too. A massive "estate" next to scaryville. What do you think about Clearwater?? There are some houses there that we could do with nicely. Hubby's job would be smack in the middle of downtown Tampa just north of the airport. Clearwater is closer to the beach! ;)

I'm a little nervous about the fact that almost all the houses for sale are short sales. Those can be messy and take forever, but in the end you get a lot of house for your money!

You and me and Lissa and missmachine can meet up! wouldn't that be fun?? ;)

A few things I learned while looking at homes in FL - if it was built before 1995 (pre-Hurricane Andrew) insurance will cost you $3000-4000 a year, after is under $1000. Personally I would rather put money in to the home than insurance LOL Also, newer homes you have to be careful of Chinese Drywall - maybe missmachine can give more info on that, I am not completely familiar with that as it was discovered after we moved back to IL. Clearwater is the same, some good and some bad. My mom has a high school friend who has lived there for 30+ years.

I am totally up for a meet up!

I'm not too sure about home buying, suffice to say that I know the market is not doing so well so the prices are decent. We live in an apartment community called Lake Carlton Arms. I love it. :) I'm also down for a get together.

Hi girls I live in Northern Pasco County on 10 acres. I am born and raised in pinellas county. It is very beautiful yet full of traffic and homes close together. Its a rat race! I love where I live now. I live near Land O lakes that area is modest as well as Trinity a newer area being built up. I am closing on my own short sale this week. I am hopefully getting sleeved next month! I am very excited that this is happening! PM me if you have questions about the area I know a lot!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
