We are always here... It maybe hard because your child is not here right now. However I challah he you to take this opportunity to do something's for yourself. Go for long walks, go get a manicure, go for a swim, go read a book at beach, ride a bike, or take this as an opportunity to catch up with your friends. Embrace your independance. Life is good, and we are blessed to have our sleeves.

I'm out here in UT, and I haven't been sleeved yet- I am here! Have you checked with your doc? I have no blood pressure (go figure), but my husband who is relatively thin has really high blood pressure (go figure again). If he goes off his meds, he feels horrible.

Thanks, I will try to do some of those things. Money is pretty tight since the surgery but I will maybe go take in a cheap movie or something.

I recommend a book by Cynthia Alexander, The Emotional First + Aid Kit : A practical guide to Life after Bariatric Surgery.

I'll tell you what, the cheapest therapy for me is plugging in my MP3 player with all my favorite inspirational songs - with fast beats. I turn that on, go outside and enjoy the sunshine and get lost in my own little world and thoughts. I work out so many issues this way.

Not only that, walking is the best workout anyone can do. Walk as fast as you can, with endurance and push and stay hydrated. You will find this helps a lot with the scale.

It's ok to be sad sometimes, to miss people. It's ok to to struggle. It's OK TO realize we are human. All of these things, fighting through it and working them out make us stronger every single day.

Keep fighting.

Yup!

get out too - Raleigh? You are in the middle of some most awesome things!

Take a day trip up to the hot springs or go to a museum...

You know, it's OK to freak out right now. Give yourself permission to feel your feelings, but also give yourself permission to let them go...

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
