Hi! I don't have a date yet but estimated early - mid September. I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to it. Unlike everyone else it seems all I'm doing is gaining weight on this 6 month pre req for insurance. Gah! R u excited?? Counting down the days?

How was medifast for u?

Medifast has been ok for me - I have never gotten to that "not hungry" stage that everyone talks about even when I have been in ketosis. I have always gained the weight back because I have never been able to successfully complete the transition phase. I am stuck at 185ish and have been for 2 years or so. I am 41 and pre-diabetic so I feel like this is my last option.

My 6 months of PCP visits will be done in September. Not sure how long it will take for my insurance company to approve and get a surgery date but I am so excited I can hardly stand it! Im hoping for an end of September/ beginning of October date! Good luck to everyone preparing for surgery soon!

Wow you guys have to wait six months?? I only have to wait three because I was a smoker and you have to wait three months after your last cigarette to get the surgery... My doctor put my date exactly 3 months after my last cigarette and told me to lose 20 lbs by then

My 6 months is also up in september and i have the same estimated time for surgery. my insurance only takes a week to a week and a half to decide, but im guessing i will have to submit it more than once.

Im really excited to hear all of your progress. I also feel that i am gainin weight on this 6 month diet, but i had an acl surgery and gained 5 lbs and am in the process of getting it off, not happy about it. As far as the medifast. I never heard about the 'not hungry stage of ketosis.' I didn't feel hungry after awhile though. the only time i was actually hungry was having to watch people eat. if i got out of the room or kept myself busy it wasn't too bad. This forum keeps me sticking to my plans and keeps my hopeful. I love to hear success stories and nsvs!

Really that is awesome, my boyfriend lives in Henderson. I do in home care so I get to watch my clients eat after i cook for them. It's the fumes that get me! I couldn't imagine having a whole line full of food, but are you allowed to go outside. I would go get a breath of fresh air maybe?

I've gained about 5 pounds since this journey began... my thinking (which I know is so bad) is, I'm not going to enjoy this food ever again so I need to enjoy it now. Today I have started journaling and I'm joining the gym. My NUT made a great comment in that the surgery is pretty life altering, trying to eat healthier and begin a workout regimen is too much at one time. I'm pretty excited... wish me luck!

Luck!! My mind has been awful with it. I have some autoimmune issues already suffering with fatigue- took myself off those meds as I truly believe this surgery and weight loss will help- but in the process of jumping through hoops I've gained a bunch. And it's hot and humid and I don't do well with that. I feel like a whiner. I am ;). Really though- lots of luck and happiness sent your way :-)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
