Just today I told the "Zumba girl" at work- skinny, perfect, hard body. I could tell she thought "Just do Zumba" in her sing songy sweet way...she IS extremely happy as these exercise people tend to be...(lol...as if it's a coincidence). But she put her arm around me and said something like "I'll be thinking (or praying?? maybe) for you" and crossed her fingers. And I know she was sincerely in my corner but she "KNOWS" that all all need is a good nutritionist and exercise. She doesn't have another experience, right? So how could I blame her- or anyone else for that matter, when they just don't understand.

Hey, I didn't "believe in it" either for a long time. I thought calories in, calories out.

Until I was educated about what happens for real with obesity.

I have told friends and family, but I don't want to share with people at work, because most of the people I work with are ugly hearted people and I don't want to share something so personal with them, never mind the fact that I didn't know for sure that the surgery was going to get approved at the beginning.

Ironically, I struggled (and am still struggling) with the decision to have the surgery. Telling people I'm having it (still don't know if I'm going to through with it) was the easiest thing to do.

I too have only told a few friends and my parents, of course my husband and my 2 boys know and support my decision. My husband is trying to get a revision from lap band to the sleeve too.

My nurse coordinator said "the easy way out is sitting back and getting more sick and gaining more weight." She too have surgery in 2003.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
