Interesting...wls Menu At A Nj Steakhouse

Recommended Posts

So, I was watching Dr. Oz yesterday and saw a preview for the local news. They were featuring a young chef, David Ralic, who has added a wls section to his menu.

Apparently, this young man (26) had the sleeve done a month ago...yay sleeve! Anyway, the new menu was available starting yesterday. I plan to check him out as soon as I am able to eat regular meals. Kudos to him!!!

For anyone who is interested, I have included a link to an article that featured him and his website.

Enjoy...

thanx so much for sharing this.

restaurants and others are taking notice that WLS have so many people now (kindof sad though) - we need to be noticed. Menus are a great place to start.

April 26, 2012 i had a knee replacement - in the hospital & then the rehab area they both had a separate dietary group/menu for WLS patients.

I'll drink to that - of course sugar free iced tea :)

What a great idea - it would be great if more places offered WLS friendly meals - I love it "nutitrient dense, sugar free, protein-infused."

I wish I lived near! I hope this catches on! The dishes looked so good and just perfect for us! Maybe other good restaurants will jump on the bandwagon!

I certainly will. I have my surgery on the 19th, so it will be awhile but I plan to update.

I used to live fairly close to there (an hour away I'd guess?) and might have visited if they had it when I did. I always hate ordering off of the regular menu, because I eat a small amount and invariably the waiter or waitress will ask if the meal is ok/something's wrong. Drives me up a wall.

I appreciate this thank you for posting. I do well with medium filet with a steak sauce and the portion he has listed is perfect. Lots of times I tell the waiter to hold the sides since I usually don't eat them and I hate the idea of wasting the food.< /p>

I'll never get to NJ. I wish every restaurant had a menu like that!

He did give me the idea to put cranberries and maybe feta in the quinoa (I don't like goat cheese). YUM!!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
