I haven't read the whole post yet, but commented in preop on their version of this so I wanted to bring this over here:

Okay, I have to say this because I have seen this 3 times in a single week now. Using the word vajayjay really does not make something less offensive (if you are going to be offended by it) or more appropriate than using the actual word for it. Many of our mothers programmed us the word Vagina is inappropriate, which it is not. (Same goes for when you are at your doc ladies). My mom raised me calling it a "Suzy". Now every time I meet a girl with that name, I internally snicker. See, ruined!! Please don't be afraid to call it (and raise your children to call it) a vagina.

I posted this in the other as well:

Actually, the inside WILL change. At least according to my gyno.

I went in for my first pap, I am only 20, and we talked about my surgery. She mentioned that larger women have more narrow vaginal canals because all the fat pushing in on it. She asked me about 100 times if I was sure I wasn't a virgin (really awkward). She said once I lose most of my weight it will widen a bit but not much. She said it probably wouldn't be noticeable to a partner but I may notice less discomfort, which I do have sometimes.

After about the second time she asked me some sort of really smart A&* comment would have come out of my mouth. How rude!

Seriously? that means when I get to goal I'll gain 13 inches..(400/30}..that can't be right, that would put me in the guiness book of world records for sure. Lmao

You already have everything you are going to have. However, weight loss will make it look larger and reduction in adipose tissue will expose more length and effectively make it larger up to the anatomical point you are meant to be at :)

I assumed the women (like me) were saying it to be funny. Of course the correct term would be more appropriate in most conversations and in teaching children.

The thread is/was kind of going the way of "let's top it with this funny word for vagina."

Great, funny, educational, light conversation!

LOL i was looking forward to coming to work and reading the comments. I knew there would be more.

LadyIvy. i didn't say VAGINA because i didn't know if they are strict about that stuff on here. A lot of forums don't let you post certain words....i coulda said coochie, clam, poonani, pootang, vag, tunnel of love, "inner goodness" , sausage wallet, among about 1000 other words but i chose to stick with hoo haa thinking it would be safe and not get moderated :) And like someone said...its all in good light fun ....Glad everyone enjoyed the post and I think it was pretty informational.....

To the poster that got sick after the band and ended up at 98 lbs, hope your feeling great now.

Oh, and I just added a new exercise to my daily routine... kegels. ;)

You cracked me up! I spit Water out my nose!!!!

I can say that there is a lot less "padding" than there used to be prior to the surgery. Also, I have an easier time "trimming the hedge" since I can now see it!!!!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
