Recommended Posts

Hello everyone I'm coming up to my surgery date and I'm starting to feel really nervous here. I'm 6ft 330 and I'm hope to get down to 220 I don't no how realalistic that is but I plan on giving it 110 percent to reach my goal.

Congrats on the best thing you are doing for yourself, it is worth it.

Realistic? YES, I am down 86lbs in 10 weeks post op. It can be done and your goal is very realistic.

It's no secret really, I just made up my mind as you have and you will see the improvement.

For me:

No more snoring

No more CPAP

No more urinary incontinence(ugh always had to pee and hurry to find a mens room)

No more choleteral meds

No more high blood pressure

I am so happy watching the weight fall off

I'm getting sleeved June 7 also. I need to shed 80 lb. I'm 5'7'' and 240.

If all goes as planned, I fly into San Diego, then Tijuana for surgery with Dr Kelly that afternoon. I'm very excited to finally get really started on my weight loss. There's scared too but gotta do it.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
