Need To Jumpstart This Weight Loss...

Recommended Posts

Ok so I am officially 2 1/2 months out and I have lost 34 pounds, I know it's good and all but I thought I would have lost more by now being that I can hardley eat more than a few bites of anything, any reasons why this is happening, and what can I do to pick up this slow pace. Open to suggestions...

Hey, I think you are doing great. I lost 21 lbs my first month and probably lost about the same lbs as you by 2 1/2 months out. Right now I am 66 lbs down, so you just need to keep doing what you are doing. It will come off.

That sounds great! I've definitely seen a common trend of about 20-25 lbs first mo, then 10 a mo after (for me considered to be doing really well)...so seems on track?

I feel really discouraged as well. Was sleeved on 4/25 and have lost 28lbs. Every time I get on the damn scale it doesnt move or its moved .something. Ive tried upping my calories and started going to the gym, but I was really hoping to at least lose 30 my 1st month. At this point I'm almost regretting my surgery again. A few wks out I felt the same way but then I started getting a little more upbeat, but cant help but question whether I did the right thing when I cant even lose 30 in a month and a half :( Everyone on here says these emotional swings are normal though, so I guess we just have to keep at it!

Sounds like you're doing great! 20-25 lbs in a month sounds pretty standard...and when wad the last time you lost 28lbs in that time period!! I definitely feel your pain with eyeing that scale and trying to will it to move :) but you had surgery for a lifetime, so don't get too down yet! In a year you'll look back and go, wow, I look soooo different!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
