I have followed my instructions fairly well- sick of the bland none satisfying foods but my concern, bad heartburn - last night I threw up - just A little stomach acid- today my stomach hurts from that pressure- but I have a headache - behind my right eye- down into my neck- for a few days now- just won't go away :-(

Am I possibly dehydrated? calling the doc is a hassle on the holiday- I tried yesterday

Sleeved May 17th- any advice??

If you think you're dehydrated, work on getting in some more fluids. Water, pedialyte, G2 are all suggestions I've seen. Some people have had luck drinking their liquids from a spoon to avoid nausea. Eat SF popsicles or some crushed ice to help with hydration. Try changing up temperatures. I personally loved broth early post-op. The warmth was soothing to my little sleeve.

If you're severely dehydrated, it might be time to go to an urgent care of ER. That might not be a bad idea anyway. I always worry when people say they have thrown up bile/stomach acids.

Good luck!! :)

I would agree that you should start with working on fluids. you are early enough out of surgery that if you just stuck with fluids til you can get back with your dr, you would be fine. You could also go pick up some prilosec to help with the acid. And I love the taste of gatorade (G2) (HATRED gatorade before surgery) but the flavors are so good after drinking Water and broth for so long. Go with room temp drinks. See if it helps. If not, head to the er

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
