Just banded in Aug.

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! I'm new, and newly banded in Aug. This is quite a change and very exciting. I have already noticed a big difference and I haven't had an adjustment yet. Due to have my first fill on Sept. 5th. Looking forward to chatting more soon.:clap2:

go to general discussion and look for the August band crew posts - that where the rest of the August bandsters are!

Thanks Robin! Wow, I was banded on August 3rd. My surgery weight was 262, 5'5" also, my BMI was 41 and at my one week post-op check I had lost 7 pounds. I don't know if I've lost since. I have noticed a big difference in my portions etc. but I don't think I've lost any more weight. I'm not having any problems except with my port. It hurts and is very uncomfortable, pulls and feels like stickers. But I'm sure it will all work out. I'm just going on my third week this Thurs. I'm excited and feel better already. You would think after a lifetime of fighting the bulge, I'd be more patient. teehee THanks again and I look forward to hearing from you again. You can email me at tammydawn707@hotmail.com if you want to. Thanks, Tammy

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
