Any Pre Sleevers Near Bellingham Washington

Recommended Posts

I am in Bellingham WA also. I am not in the position for hiking but will love to read about your adventures....Reason i am not in the position to hike, is due to all my health issues. At this time i am still in a wheel chair more than out, but that is changing as the weight comes off...maybe next year! :)

Just at the beginning of my VSG journey.....doing alot of research, etc. I have set up an appt. with doctor for initial consult and nutritionist. Need to set appt for psych. evaluation. I've been overweight or obese most of my adult life. I'm 57 with a BMI of 34. Tried every diet (atkins, nutrisystem, low cal, low carb, etc) and they worked somewhat but the weight came back. I am soooo tired of being fat and all the energy it takes just thinking of being fat. I have wasted so much time, energy and $$$ over the past 30 years in pursuit of weight loss.

I'm excited about the VSG and hope to have my surgery the day after Christmas. My present to myself since insurance won't pay. But I have spent way more than $16,000 on weight loss throughout the years so I am hopeful that this will be $$ well spent. My surgery will be outpatient in Edmonds with Dr. Crouthamel.

I'm in lake Stevens and having my sleeve done by dr michaelson at NWWLS...on aug 30th!!!

I've just started at NWWLS with Dr. Michaelson - I've had my first consultation, plus I'm about to have my second nutritionist visit. I'd love to hear about your experiences in more detail now that you're a month post-op.

Dr. Michaelson as well! I live in Wenatchee, don't really know any other sleevers over here. I have corresponded with another patient from NWWLS, he had a different doc. I have been thrilled with my results. I had surgery May 10, from 255 to 176, and still losing happily.

If anyone cares to correspond or has any questions please feel free to contact me!

@It's all new: I have a lot of family in Wenatchee/Cashmere vicinity. None of them are sleevers, but I do know the area pretty well. How did you do through the worst of the fires?

I have to admit that I'm fairly nervous about this whole thing, and I have been waffling about whether it's the right thing to do, or if I am taking an unnecessary risk. I know the numbers are in my favor if I do the surgery vs. staying heavy. It's tough to commit to this fully!

Oh the fires... not fun. I tried to get out of town as much as possible. The smoke gave me really bad headaches, not to mention that exercising (even indoors) with that air quality was a little questionable. I by no means missed it all, but I came and went quite a bit.

I have to say I am totally thrilled with my results. I know it can be a very hard decision to make. I had been diagnosed with diabetes and that made my decision very easy - I knew that this was (for me) the only way to deal with the diabetes effectively. But in general, I think you are right, the numbers are probably in your favor as far as having the surgery. I think having the increased energy, confidence and happiness is worth it - before I even consider my health! Everyone has their own pros and cons to weigh out though, that is for sure.

Let me know if you have any questions about my experience - and good luck finalizing your decision!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
