I feel like I'm just hang in limbo since I don't have a date yet also getting a little on edge knowing it is going to be soon. How did your surgery go? Where did you have it? How are you doing?

Yeah it moves kinda slow, i had a 6 month diet wait deal so mine really seemed to creep, but let me tell you once they call to confirm all of the paperwork is good and insurance is good it starts to move.... I think waiting to be scheduled with the pre op with surgeon took longer that was like a 3 week wait.. went to see him April 30th and he had openings as soon as may 8th, i took may 15th and it did fly by even with being on a 10 day liquid diet it was very quick...and now i'm here with cuts on my tummy 6 days after surgery...

The surgery was a fear of the unknown, i had never had an operation or been in a hospital so it was scary, some things were better than others experienced others were worse but nothing that makes you like this is too much...just a little uncompfy. :)

I had mine done at methodist st louis park...

My surgery was suppose to be may 17th but my surgeon isn't doing planned surgeries anymore he is only doing emergencies to fix other doctors mistakes. He also teaches at the U of M so I had to find a different surgeon and now I'm waiting to get the go ahead from the insurance company for the new doc and my old doc was going to do the rny now this one the vs so I'm really frazzled by all this reading about the sleeve seems like a lot of people have issues and not good I do need to lose a fair about of weight do to illnesses and meds

Hello all! I'm in Brooklyn Park and just scheduled for June 11th with Dr. Svendsen at Park Nicollet. I'd love to have as many local friends as possible. I think it'd be fun to all get together sometime as well. Once I was approved, I had a pre-op appt with my surgeon within a week, and was able to ****** up a surgery date a little over 3 weeks away. I was lucky to get that appointment, as it had just opened up that morning. I was in the right place at the right time :)

Sheril, I hope you get the insurance stuff all figured out. I'm doing the same thing right now. Park Nicollet has two surgeons, and the other surgeon was the one who signed my precert request. Now I just need to get Dr. Svendsen on record as my surgeon. They say it should be pretty easy....I'm praying they are right.

Talk to you all soon!!

Well i did mine with the other surgeon Dr Jones and was very pleased..I know someone else that did the RYN with your guy and he was good too...I just liked the way Jonesy did the info session...

I don't think the sleeve has any more complications than the other, my guy did say that because i'm so young 31 that he wouldnt advise me to do the RYN IE dumping, malabosorbsion and some other crap..So i trusted him and he did say that it is totally possible to loose over 150 pounds i want to loose 120...

But i know that my friend that did the RYN said it was a good choice as she had immieditae medical things she needed corrected...

Sorry my spelling sucks and i'm in bed on my back :)

Hi sleeve I was thinking about going to the support groups as soon as I'm able... I live in Eagan so it's kinda a drive but it's closer to work...

Can I ask how much you lost total in 8.5 months?

I'm down 12 pounds in 7 days, which she said was good because I flushed all the gas and liquid they pumped in me and then some...

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
