So Completely Confused And At 9 Months Out!

Recommended Posts

How can you wake up one morning and weight 150.2... get all upset, depressed, feel like you have completely failed because you said you would never get over 150 again.... then wake up the next morning and weight 147.3? I wanted to throw the dang scale through the wall yesterday. I really thought it was a glitch... but weight myself 4 times in different spots in the bathroom to make sure it really was 150.2. Every time same reading.... This morning I did the same thing.... same reading of 147.3.

I think I'm going crazy

Women seem to have this issue more than men because our Water weight can flucuate so much from day to day, especially that time of month. It is very frustruating. I know I shouldn't weight every day but I do.

oh my gosh, give the scale a break! I definitely do the same thing and I end up obsessing a lot, but different women carry different amounts of Water weight at all different times. Don't worry--you're doing fantastically, clearly.

I think seeing the number over 150 was what scared me the most. I have gotten to the point that I don't weight myself but maybe twice a week however, I think that may have contributed to the freak out.lol When I was keeping an eye on the scale I wouldn't go over 149.9...then 3 days passed without weighing and OMG. Oh well. I don't know what happen... but I feel better today and I'm watching what I am sticking in my mouth closer than I have in a while. Talk about a wake up call!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
