P.S. We all need each other to lift the other one when they are feeling conquered, but we have to remember NOT defeated!!! I just want to get to 199 and under then I will sing and dance....

I know what you mean. I have weighted 197 once in my adult life so my goal is 196, I am getting there little by little. You will get to your goal very soon too, you are so close.

I totally know what you mean. I know I am not in the same boat as other but I am a way better me than I use to be so I try to focus on all the positive things that have changed in MY life. I am also low energy' date=' I have been for a few days. I am hoping it gets better soon. I am sure more Protein and Water would help that.

We are all so different, don't worry about what others are doing. Each journey is so unique and special. You are on the right track. One day at a time :-)[/quote']

You're so right Brandy, and I need to hear that other's are going at a pace that i am. I got a new bike last week and have only rode it a couple of times, but my schedule has been very busy, and it's time to get back into workout mode. If i don't do it, then I slack off, but my shoulder has been killing me, and when I'm in pain, I don't feel like doing anything. I have PT again tomorrow. I almost dread it because I feel worst when I get out of there. I would love to join the gym for a month to firm and tone a bit more, but I don't want to waste the money if my shoulder won't allow me to do what I want. If I could win the mega million and have plastic surgery I would, but only in a few areas. How on earth did I ever get to this point??? It doesn't matter right, I don't want the past to dictate my future, I want to be healthy and that is what's important here. We are all striving to reach that point. Thanks so much for getting back to me, it means a lot!!

You are so welcome. I know much support means from someone how is going through it too. I have good days and bad days for sure but tomorrow is always a new day to do the right thing. We each have our own journey and our bodies know best. If we are giving it the important things and staying away for the bad then we are doing the right thing and we have to trust our body to do what it needs too :-)

You're doing great!! I still haven't gotten into the 100's yet' date=' but I'm at 208. I'm getting a new bike today, and will be doing a lot of bike riding now that it's cooler outside. Also, I called my doctor's office and spoke with the nurse that has worked with me most of the time the past year through this whole process. Meaning, from the time I was first making a very big decision in my life. I first thought about the lap band, then after months of doing all that I had to do to make this possible, I thought to myself, I am not going to do this I can do it on my own. Well, proven fact, I couldn't do it on my own. Besides some of the meds I was on kept me from losing weigth, and the stress I was under with other things happening in my lfe.

I am glad that I made the decision to do this surgery, and she said I am right where I should be for my height, and weight. She also said that people who have loss the weight quicker are usually a lot heavier. I'm eating healthy, working out some...and...my clothes are fitting different. She said when you go up and down, that it could be from eating something salty, or Water retention. I would rather lose it a bit slower, then to have to all come off fast. Which that is what I thought would happen at first. I don't want my skin to sag. Also, she said....if you have 80 grams of Protein a day, you should have half of that in carbs. 60 grams-30 carbs. I was so worried about the carbs I was getting, and didn't want to overdue it. Now I feel much better, and I hope to be at 199 by the time I see the Dr. on the 27th. Yippie, maybe it will be even less. Good luck to all of you....Any weight lost, it a step closer to a healthy life, and feeling good about yourself. My mind and stomach don't see eye to eye yet, and I"m sure you now what I mean. but soon it will all connect!!!![/quote']

Thank you!!! You are doing great! I still can't get in all of my protein. I try, but it's really hard. :(

I have been in the same boat. Maybe eating wrong stuff, and too much sliders. It's been almost a month stall for me. Ugh, I'm very frustrated also. Any support, or advice would be welcomed! Good luck to all!

I was June 20. As of today, I have lost 55 with 45 left to go. I feel like this is a little slow. What do you think? Recently, I found that the longer that I sleep at night, the better my weight loss is.

Maybe lot's more Protein and less carbs....that's what I'm doing....can't work out as much as I would like too, but maybe this shot I got in my shoulder today will help this time...too much pain to work out...I do bike and do the treadmill....I just have to keep plucking along...

I started using the app on my phone called Lose It. I started tracking all my food and Water intake. I realized I was eating way more calories than I thought. I have been able to control my intake and although my weight loss is at a plateau right now I know i have to keep moving forward with working out and making the best choices possible for my body. Even if the scale does not change remember every good choice is helping your body in so many ways.

What are your workouts like? Do you do resistance every day or every other day? What type of cardio? Thanks

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
