I imagine the day I see 199 on the scale. I want to see that scale # begin with a "1"! I am pleased with my physical changes and smaller sizes. Trying not to be impatient.

Best wishes!!

Mine, June 19th, still @214lbs. Can't seem to move that scale. Been walking, but still can't work out the way I would like to due to shoulder. Physical therapy starts tomorrow, so hopefully that will help heal me and get the ball moving. I'm so glad to hear that I'm not the only one losing slow. Like I said, maybe in the long run it will be better knowing if you lose a bit slower, your skin won't sag as much. It's so wonderful to have support, and to read everyones post!! I'm trying to stay as low as i can on the carbs. My blood pressure has been up and down. So I don't have to take my pills all the time. I know there's a difference in me, but sometimes I feel like I haven't lost at all, but the clothes say different....so...we just keep on moving like we are, and pray it will continue to come off!!

When i reached 199 i bought myself a little ring from Walmart. Now all i need now is to get to 190. I'm tired of fighting 199-197 alot of it is my fault not hitting the gym and just going walking. I must do better..

I too am having the same problem. My surgery was June 28 and I am down 23 pounds. I am like Brandy lose a few plateau. It gets a little frustrating but we will all get there.

I am going through the same thing. I will bounce 3-4 pounds for a week or two then go down 4. Repeat. I have been doing that since surgery. Of course, I have to admit that this is how I lost with my lapband as well. I figure this is my life now. I am going to roll with it until the wheels fall off. :)

Tomorrow will be 10 weeks. When I look at the big picture 31.5 pounds in 10 weeks is awesome. I was 211 this morning. With each day I can see my body change and my clothes fit better. I know it is a little slow but honestly if I lost faster it would be hard to process. Right now I can take a little time to see the change and process. I am following all the doctors orders so now it is up to God and my body.

This is a life long change, we will get there!! :D

That's awesome! My surgery date was June 26. Pre-surgery weight high was 258, surgery day was 248, & currently I'm at 222! It's definitely not coming off too fast, but its so encouraging to see #'s the same as mine!!! I'm going to be hitting the gym soon to see if I can't get it off just a lil quicker. Best of luck to you.

You're doing great!! I still haven't gotten into the 100's yet, but I'm at 208. I'm getting a new bike today, and will be doing a lot of bike riding now that it's cooler outside. Also, I called my doctor's office and spoke with the nurse that has worked with me most of the time the past year through this whole process. Meaning, from the time I was first making a very big decision in my life. I first thought about the lap band, then after months of doing all that I had to do to make this possible, I thought to myself, I am not going to do this I can do it on my own. Well, proven fact, I couldn't do it on my own. Besides some of the meds I was on kept me from losing weigth, and the stress I was under with other things happening in my lfe.

I am glad that I made the decision to do this surgery, and she said I am right where I should be for my height, and weight. She also said that people who have loss the weight quicker are usually a lot heavier. I'm eating healthy, working out some...and...my clothes are fitting different. She said when you go up and down, that it could be from eating something salty, or Water retention. I would rather lose it a bit slower, then to have to all come off fast. Which that is what I thought would happen at first. I don't want my skin to sag. Also, she said....if you have 80 grams of Protein a day, you should have half of that in carbs. 60 grams-30 carbs. I was so worried about the carbs I was getting, and didn't want to overdue it. Now I feel much better, and I hope to be at 199 by the time I see the Dr. on the 27th. Yippie, maybe it will be even less. Good luck to all of you....Any weight lost, it a step closer to a healthy life, and feeling good about yourself. My mind and stomach don't see eye to eye yet, and I"m sure you now what I mean. but soon it will all connect!!!!

I am 205.5 today. I go up and down. I noticed that Constipation and lack of Water are two things that really affect my weight. Trying to stay on top of all the important things. I am sure you will move past this plateau, just keep working on Protein, Water, Vitamins and exercise :-)

Thanks, I needed that. I just get frustrated, and i have been so tired lately, but I have also had a lot going on in my life. I shouldn't go by what other's say who are 40 or more pouns lighter who had the surgery at the same time. We are all different. I won't give up...I just don't have the energy today, because I was awake all night thinking about my weight gain, weight loss.....If only my brain would stop thinking about it for one minute...LOL

I totally know what you mean. I know I am not in the same boat as other but I am a way better me than I use to be so I try to focus on all the positive things that have changed in MY life. I am also low energy, I have been for a few days. I am hoping it gets better soon. I am sure more Protein and Water would help that.

We are all so different, don't worry about what others are doing. Each journey is so unique and special. You are on the right track. One day at a time :-)

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
