Teri - that is the million dollar question! I'd love to know the answer to that question. It's like a higher power is truly testing us.

I think it's because it is usually greasy, buttery or fattening. Or overprocessed. It just slides down easier!

No weight loss for me this week. Something's happening though, my clothes are getting looser. I'm exercising a lot more now since joining a gym.

Oh, hey! Not many more days left and we will begin celebrating our bandiversaries! Can anyone believe it's been a year? Wow!

lisalee: I'm sure you're right about the buttery, fattening, greasy "good" stuff going down easier. Darn it!

I hate to admit this here, but I am very disappointed that our one year bandiversary is almost here. I just haven't been as successful as I thought I would be by now. I am not giving up, mind you, but it looks like it is actually going to take the 2 years that they predicted. I thought they were just being conservative! Well, I'm a heckofa lot better off now than I was a year ago, that's for darned sure! :nervous

I weighed this am and am up 2lbs  I have decided to just stick to the healthy foods and if I drink a Protein Shake, it will be no added sugar. I think the sugar in the shakes truly increases my appetite! I'm really not paying attention to the weight this am because it was only 1 day, the weight on monday will tell the tale. Wish me luck. I will win the battle of the bulge. It's just not happening fast enough for me.

I am setting a mini goal for my aniversary 5lbs by 9/15/07!!

Anyone want to join me?

Teri

My4Sons - Congrats and Good Luck! - I was banded 9-13-2005 but my bithday is the 28th.

fugnik - Would love to join with you on that but near 2 years out 5 pounds in 2-1/2 weeks may just be unrealistic. But I'll give it the old college try.

Gee that is only a few weeks away and the weight is coming off in sprits. I will give it a go. My weight this am is 219.6 so that would mean 214.6 and that would be 50lbs since surgery date and 58lbs since 1st pre op visit.

We can do it!!!!

Since my last fill in July I have been loosing weight slow and steady. I was 230 July 21st and today I am 219 so I am very very happy. But I have noticed that since my last fill I have been having really bad heart burn after my meds or anything slightly spicy.

It is like the stuff is in my esophagus too long. Does anyone else have this problem. I have notice the amount of food I can eat has increased the last few days so I am thinking that maybe the 11 lbs off since that fill has made the band loosed. Thats ok with me as long as I continue to loose the next 44 lbs.

But any suggestions on the heart burn would be greatly appreciated.:(

I was laying in bed last night thinking that even thought I have lost 53lbs that I would probably put it on just as fast if I was not banded. I find that I can eat very little of anything but esp. lettuse since my last fill. Ice Burg is ok but anything with more texture just gets stuck. I have maybe 3 bites of meat and I am done for the meal.

I have been living on String cheese 8g Protein per stick. I try to eat a plate of food but put very little on it because if I do then I get overwhelmed and almost imedietly I cant eat anymore. We went out to eat last week and my husband decided he did not want to share a meal with me so I ordered my own. What a joke. I took two bites and could not look at it. I new 2 bites was not going to hold me so I took the little plate they had the roll on and gave the roll to my kids and put 1 scoop of potato, turkey W/gravy and cole slaw on it. It took my 1/2 hour to eat but I did it and thought my friend the waitress was shocked that is all I ate, I was proud that I made it thru and did not over or under do it.

I wish that I could have a piece of Cake and frosting but a very small piece is all I can handle and it takes me forever and a day to eat it.

Long time, no see! Just thought I'd check in with my old September Bandster buddies to say "Happy Bandiversary!" It's been an awesome year for me. I'm 157 lbs., down from 273. Was a size 26W, and now a 8-10. I'm in the best physical condition of my life. Now to just KEEP it off!

Wishing all of you continued success!

Tami

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
