Attention ! Australian Sleevers

Recommended Posts

It's only two weeks! You can do anything for two weeks! Everything is different post-op and it won't be as hard then.

Thanks Misty it helps that we are both on it.

So 6 days post op now slowly starting to feel more human now! Saw my gp today had the dressings taken down sites all looking good told I could take some peppermint oil caps to help with gas! Found real chicken broth is nice during my post op time! Finding stuff to mix up and that I will tolerate during this Fluid stage hard!
If possible try t have a variety of sweet as well as savoury Protein options during this phase. meat & vege Soups blended and watered down are good. They fill you up and keep any hunger at bay for a while. Variety helps during this stage. I made a list of possible options for the early stages and had the ingredients on hand, so maybe doing similar will help you too.

Milked-down yogurt is a good option for the liquid phase. Also chicken stock, beef stock, bonox, Vegemite in Water etc. Salty things to balance out all the sweet stuff. You can stir plain Protein Powder into things. Just don't put it into anything too hot or it will curdle. I found that alternating hot and cold helped too.

5. Very inspiring story and amazing to see your pictures.

Thanks Kelli and Lissa :)

It was great to see your pics from the weekend, looks like fun. And you all look amazing!!!

Catching up after a hectic long weekend, I am so exhausted I can only imagine how pre-sleeve me would have handled the weekend.

Lissa, any dates for when you will be in Sydney?

Yep- got email confirmation today :) I will arrive on Saturday 9th of November and leave on Wednesday 13th.

Can any Sydney Sleevers meet during that period? I am staying at Parramatta and I don't know Sydney all that well so where ever we meet will have to be easy to find :)

Can't wait to meet up with you guys!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
