Seriously, if you are resisting working out (like I was) just take the plunge and try a couple of different things. I always forget how good working out makes me feel. Glad to be back on track.

Tell that to my low energy and strong desire to be in bed...however I do get lots of walking in. But the gym has not become my friend yet.

Pre-op I thought there was no way I'd ever enjoy going to the gym. Now, I'm becoming a regular gym rat. I sweated through yesterday because it's my "rest day". It about killed me not to go. Today was such a relief, to climb on that bike for my warm up and then work my way through the weights. Ahhhh, it was delicious!

If you'd have told me 8 months ago that I would say anything close to what I just said, I'd have told you that you were INSANE.

I'd rather be addicted to exercise than to food! :)

I am totally enjoying working out. Been lifting weights, walking and jogging a nice pace and just started taking spinning classes. I am feeling great. Exercise really helps.

I am just getting back into a routine, but I am looking forward to going spinning in the future.. I always would see them in that room and be afraid that getting on that bike would kill me- it probably would've with all that weight on!

I'm off to the gym in a few minutes to do my workout. Yesterday, on my rest day, I walked around two flea markets and wore out the person who was with me. He's 30 and has a manual labor job, so in much better shape than me! LOL

I'm looking forward to some elliptical time, then to hitting the weights HARD. This evening, I'll do my second workout, which will be at least 30 minutes of hard-core cardio. I can't wait!!! :)

I would love to try the spin class but not quite there yet.

So agree, I am working out with my 15 year old. Don't want here to look like me.

My surgeon cleared me at 6 weeks for all exercises including weights, he said start light and stop if you feel pain. I haven't felt any pain and am taking 3-4 spinning classes a week, lifting 3-4 times a week and outdoor running/walking 2-3 times a week. I feel great, you know you body so start small and build up. Lissa had a great tip of low weights but high reps, so I started there. I just don't want to have a lot of loose skin and weights help with that.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
