This Will Happen To You!

Recommended Posts

A 10, I am wearing a size 10 jean today. Since my Nov VSG date I have gone from a size 20W to a size 10 jean!!! All I can say to those who are either anxiously waiting for their date and for those who have recently had the surgery is "THIS WILL HAPPEN TO YOU!" And it's wonderful to realize that you (I) won't ever get back into those 20s! (except for comparison purposes lol)

Me either!! I'm wearing a size 20/22 now & would be happy to be anything smaller. Heck, I'd start dancing if I could just get back in my 16's!

Isn't it too cool? Way to go! I know that for the first time in my life I'm getting rid of my "fat clothes" instead of saving them for when I'll need them again. The sleeve ain't easy, but these are the things that make it all worth while. Congrats to you and to all of my other loser buddies!

I have been going to the gym 3-4 days a week doing mostly cardio stuff. I walk on the treadmill, use the eliptical and ride the recumbent bike. I also swim. I can't do any weight lifting/strengthening type of exercises because I have an artificial knee. But I can tell with the low impact cardio that I have been doing I am seeing that I am toning up. I do have some loose/sagging skin that I figure between being overweight forever and being 50 years old that's to be expected, but my husband is the only one that gets to see that. lol I'm just so darn excited to be in a size 10 jean, 30 years ago when I got married I was wearing a size 9, it's just unbelievable!!!

Thank you so much for sharing this with us all. As it's getting closer and I am saving all this money each month to pay for this surgery, it's reassuring to me that I am making the best decision for me and my life. Reinventing myself. Making a commitment to myself for health and happiness. I look at my savings and try to not feel guilty for spending the money on me when it can go toward my next goal of financial freedom. One step at a time. I will finally be free of my unhealthy addiction/attachment to food. Right now - that's sounds like a great way to be free!!! July 3rd... My independence day. Can't wait for my size 12's.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
