Having some problems with full liquid diet. After reading a lot here sounds like it could be a Lactose issue.

Try something that does not have milk in it. I can not have milk until Thursday. I was just sleeved on the 18th. I am on cytomax (protien drink & gatorade) I drink them very slow 1 ounce every 15 minutes. It takes me all day to get my 20 ounces of protiens and 32 ounces of Powerade.< /p>

Turns out it was the milk products, so I think I will be challenged to get 64gr Protein a day.

I don't know if it would work for a full liquid diet but it worked for me to get enough protien in after surgery. I drink Isopure zero carb bottled drinks. I get them at GNC. They are 40grams of Protein each, a clear liquid in fruit flavors. I mixed each one half with Water to get 40 oz of Water and 40 oz of protien per day. I was able to get the other 20 grams in food. It also isn't so filling. I was only able to eat one ounce of food at a time for the first month after surgery. I am two years out and only eat 3.5 oz food per meal now. I looked at this post because my surgery was 4/19/10 :-)

I wanted to loose 80 lbs. I lost 120 and have held it pretty well so far. Lots of walking, wii fit plus. I eat whatever I want (except rice, noodles, not much bread - those flat Buns are fine) but in very small quantities. I eat 5 mini-meals a day. I only drink one of these (diluted version) after exercising now. It seems to help build muscle.

The grape and the apple melon taste the best. the others are not very good IMO.THey are made with 100% whey protien isolate.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
