Hello my fellow sleevers,

I had my surgery on Mach 29th. I'm still getting used to all the changes but so far im very happy with my decision! This last week I had went to my nieces school concert and I was able to fit in the seat without getting stuck, it was a wonderful feeling. But what was even a greater accomplishment for me was when I put on my "only" pair of jeans that fit before my surgery (and even then they were so tight they looked like skinny jeans), are loose and keep falling off. I also fit into 7 more pair of jeans that I had hiding away! I just love clothes so I'm so excited to be able to fit into ones I've only been able to wear once and go shopping for new ones!

Thanks to all of you for your support, positivity, wisdom & humor in all your posts! It's helped me through a lot of my days. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Xoxo Ashley

Awwwwww Ashley

how wonderful is that? make sure you pull up those pants so they don't fall down.

they say finding clothes in your closed that now all of a sudden fit, is like going shopping in the closet - only diffference you don't have to pay.

congrats on the chair situation too.

keep up the good work

congrats

Congrats!! I know the feeling.. My only issue is that I've been the same size for 8-10 years.. so I don't have "small clothes"... I hate wearing the same things every week or two weeks.. Previously, I would recycle my wardrobe maybe once a month... Now... It's belts, dresses and skirts w/ cheap tops and cute jewelry...

I'm losing pounds slowly, but I'm losing inches quite rapidly! I'm glad I'm losing something!! LOL

Your style sounds so cute now! Love the belt & skirt sitch, I cant wait to wear belts! Yea, I have a good amount of clothes were im just "in-between" so they fit around the waist but baggie everywhere else, just not flattering, lol. Hey I'll take the inches off any day, the scale is my enemy so I rely on clothes to give me truth. You go girl, keep rockin that sleeve!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
