Arrggh! My doctor wouldn't let me have Tomato Soup during liquids phase b/c of the acidity and because if I was having some bleeding complications they didn't want me drinking anything red. But (like a true fat girl) I'm craving it now. I suppose you could make it with Tomato sauce which I think only has about 8 carbs per serving and just add stuff to your liking-maybe??

And, some more bad news to go with that..........just a plain little grilled cheese sandwich is about 300 calories....and about 30 grams of carbs. And 30-50 grams is all I allow myself in a whole day!!

Yes, That pizza recipe does sound yummy! I will have to try that I too miss pizza sometimes, well when the family is eating it lol.

I eat toasted cheese sandwich in the toaster oven, no butter no grease in the pan just toasted cheese.< /span>

I use fit day and my sandwich is~

2 slices thin sliced white bread, and one slice Imitation cheese

Cal 150 fat 4 carb 21 pro 7

and with my Tomato Soup prepared w/ Water ONE CUP and this is with my herbs and shredded cheese on top is...

Cal 340 - Fat 11 - Carb 46 - pro 15

I make good old Campbells concentrated Tomato Soup and add 1/2 can of Water and 1/2 can of skim milk. Pre-banding, I LOVED tons of ritz crackers in it but now I'm satisfied to have it plain... very filling and so good.

The Soups to go are a lot higher in calories and much more expensive.

Tomato Soup is my all time fav...........sour cream? Parmesan cheese??? omg I have to try that!!! I usually have mine in a mug and drink it....goes good with the grilled cheese. Hmmm can I eat grilled cheese (ever) after having a band??? (i know not right away...just wondering if I have to lick it---i mean kiss it goodbye.......LOL:p

grilled cheese sandwhich dipped into piping hot tomoto soup is my FAVORITE comfort food. Even over french fries. And I love me some french fries.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
